Default 96 chevy suburban cuts off!! please help!

I have a 1996*Chevy*Suburban k2500 5.7 4WDIt just recently started shutting off as im driving, it usually starts back up after like 10mins but now wont start. I noticed when i put the key in the assesory position none of the dash lights (check engine,batt,abs,etc..) come on and it wont start. But out of nowhere when i try it all those lights come on and it starts. Can someone please help me out? Whats goin on?***

Must be a loose connection somewhere. Check all the fuses and if they fit into socket tightly.

I currently have the same problem on my k2500, try removing the steering column covers and tugging on the wiring harness coming from the ignition switch, it may jostle the switch enough and send power back to the dash, another possibility is a dirty or lose connection behind the cluster so a couple swift pounds on the dash will help sometimes too

Go look at your battery connections first. A loose or corroded connector will cause exactly what you are describing.
