Driving down the Interstate, the window went down on it's own. Now won't go up.

Would like advice on:
1. Likely cause.
2. Can I manually raise the thing until I get the parts?

I took the plastic interior panel off so I can get to the parts now. Nothing obvious.

 

It's either an electrical problem, worn switch, a bad window motor or a failed window regulator. It would help to know about your vehicle, its mileage, any previous issues and the circumstances under which it failed..
