Question RPM's rev up on a 2008 Suburban while in park

I currently have a 2008 Suburban. I find that whenever the vehicle is in park the RPM's rev up.....does anyone know why this happens? Is there a way to fix the problem?
Thank you in advance for any help!

If it's still under warranty, I'd take it to the dealer first. If not, get it scanned for any code history.

How high does it rev to and does it stay there or does it settle back to normal?

I would agree with 73 Shark. Getting it diagnosed would be the first good step on getting this issue fixed. I hope it helps and could you please keep us up to date if you do decide to go to the dealership? Thank you.
