There are two styles of brake hardware for the Tracker. My 2001 Tracker has the old (and hard to find) style. Your 2002 may have the newer style. Check out this link to see the difference between old and new.

mine also has the old style adjuster. And everywhere I call says they're pretty much impossible to come by, and I believe it. I've read that there are suzuki parts that interchange with these. Is that true?

All Tracker parts are made by Suzuki. Suzuki parts can be ordered from Megazip.net or PartSouq.com. Unfortunately I have been unable to find parts numbers for the older style brakes on either site.

I did see the older style adjuster on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/40519680822...3ABFBMooT92stl

You may have to look in a junkyard. My local junkyard has four Trackers 😀

I'm pretty sure I found the correct adjuster for mine. I found it on ebay and like I've read throughout and everyone else says, it is a suzuki part number. I dont get why gm decided it was smart to discontinue something for the brakes lol. But I can give you the part number for the one I found that best matches my 2002 tracker, Im not sure what year your tracker is. The adjuster I found is for an 06-08 grand vitara. The adjusters for the earlier model vitaras do not match mine haha

>> I dont get why gm decided it was smart to discontinue something for the brakes

Chevy discontinued support for the Tracker when Suzuki filed for bankruptcy.

My Tracker uses the early style adjuster.

Question Rear Brake Adjusters

So ;

What causes them to wear out then ? .

The park brake on my 2000 Tracker comes up WAY too far so I'm sure I'll need to go in there ere long .

Luckily there are plenty of low mileage later model Grand Vitaras in local scrapyards .
