Tracker1989-2004
This compact SUV proved itself to be a fine ecnomical vehicle, good for making its way along any type of surface. Platform: CAMI (Suzuki)
My father in law recently gave me a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker 2 door 4WD that he had sitting around not being used (he already has one) to basically use as an off-road vehicle since my 2 young children love going with him in his. Anyways he essentially said get it running and i can have it. I got it running and everything but he did mention the rear drive shaft was on the floor in the back. Today i started messing with it and it was quickly apparent I have some issues. After looking inside the slip yoke it was clear something went wrong. The splines are pretty messed up and when i crawled under the vehicle to look at the transfer case and part of it around the output shaft broke off.
I started looking around for a new slip yoke and transfer case and while there seem to be a few transfer cases out there however I can't seem to find the yoke anywhere. It has 14 splines with two different gaps. Does anyone out there have any idea where I might be able to find this part? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just found the site this morning --- don't know anything about them. Please report back on your experience if you do use them.
Also, it helps to know the equivalent trim level if you are buying Suzuki parts for your Tracker.
Example: My 2001 Tracker has everything but leather.
JLX: air conditioning, interior air filter, cruise control, power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, steel or alloy wheels.
I will let you know if i go with them. I'm still looking for alternative places since it seems that one would be coming from Japan. Also thank you for the Trim level equivalent on the Suzuki. I was trying to go that route last night but wasn't positive on what was the equivalent. Trying to do everything as cheap as possible since it looks like i'm going to need to replace the t-case as well.
