Tracker1989-2004
This compact SUV proved itself to be a fine ecnomical vehicle, good for making its way along any type of surface. Platform: CAMI (Suzuki)

Just to be clear, the part number for the 2002 and earlier Trackers is different from the 2003 and 2004 models. The newer pressure sensor is easier to source. The older one not so much.
I have a theory why the Tracker uses a different fuel tank pressure sensor after 2002. The short answer: the EPA made them do it. From 1996 to 1999 the EPA standard for a "small" EVAP leak was circular hole with a 1mm diameter. In 2000 the standard was tightened so the hole could only have a 0.5mm diameter. The phase-in for this change took a couple of years. I have documentation showing that Suzuki/Chevrolet was still using the 1mm standard in 2002. I'm guessing they adopted the new 0.5mm standard in 2003. The fuel tank pressure sensor is used to test the EVAP system for that leak. It makes sense they would need a more sensitive fuel pressure sensor after 2002 to monitor the tighter EPA standard.
I was searching for the electrical parameters of the 2002 and 2003 fuel tank pressure sensors. I did not find that but...
I found that 1999 thru 2002 Trackers use a 3-pin sensor and 2003 and 2004 use a 4-pin sensor.
RockAuto is also showing a 4-pin sensor for 2003 and 2004. I have been unable to locate a 2003 Tracker schematic to
see if they actually use all 4 pins, but it appears that any of the fuel tank pressure sensors part numbers with 3-pins will
fit a 2001 Tracker.
