Hi i have a chevrolet tracker 2003 and i have problems with the power steering, when i turn the wheel it as hard spots. I had this problem like 2 months ago, but after 2 weeks the power steering came back, and now i still have this problem. Its weird cause when it came back i was beating it a little in the woods. But now i still have problems, i just want to know what the problem can be! Thanks for helping me!

 

I had the same type of problem, I would have hard spots in the steering while driving. There would also be problems with the wheel turning back to straight ahead after a turn. My mechanic looked at it and said the lower steering shaft had two u-joints in it that were binding up. It is the shaft that goes between the steering rack and the upper steering shaft. I haven't replaced mine yet, but do know you can get it from a couple places for around $100.
