I have a 2007 TB and had it at the dealer. They looked up the vin and the truck has electric door locks but not remote ready. What needs to be done to setup a remote lock opener?

 

I think you have to replace the liftgate module in the back hatch with one that supports it and possibly have it programmed at the dealer and of course get the correct gm fobs. i'm in the same boat ,no RKE .

 

When I bring it in for the 3rd recall GRRRRR I'll ask for prices

 

I ordered the key fob from amazon fairly cheap came with instructions I did what the page said and I have a fully working remote door lock and unlock
the key is it seems to reprogram the computer while holding down 2 buttons
on the fob then the door locks locked and unlocked and now it is all good

Look in your glovebox for the printed codes, if in those codes somewhere it says AU0 then you have a remote lock ready and you just need fobs to program , if AU0 is not present like mine you cannot program fobs and would have to replace the LGCM . Also if you have a doorlock on the passenger side of the vehicle for a key it will likely not have RKE.

 

When I hold down the unlock button and turn the ignition on and off twice it goes in program mode so I'm thinking it will work. where in the glove box is this code I am to look for?

 

Open the glovebox door and the placard is right on the door itself ,may need aflashlight to look at the codes on it. Look for AU0 somewhere in those codes.Even on mine it sounds like it is going into program mode but it never does because mine doesn't have RKE.
