all of a sudden i'm having a small starting issue. as a few weeks ago my trailblazer would start right up with the slightest of key turns. now it seems to turn/crank 3-4 more times before starting. there are times where i stop turning the key and it automatically keeps on cranking and sometimes starts. haven't been stranded, it's always started by the 2nd try.

new fuel pump in it. plugs have about 50K on them. not sure of battery but its at least a few years old.

(not sure if its related but everything was fine until one day i made some short trips on a warm day between places where i pulled quickly into parking spaces and shut off engine real quick. ever since that day its been acting like i mentioned. everything was perfect before.)

was going to run some injector cleaner through it (if that's even worth it?).

anything else i can look at at home before my doctor takes a look.

 

Is the new fuel pump an off brand pump? How long ago was it installed? The cheaper off brand pumps do not last and sometimes fail rather quickly. Try spraying some starter fluid or gas into the throttle body and see if it starts quicker. If it does it is the fuel pump.

 

Its' also possible that the rapid start/shut off thing buggered up the internals of the ignition switch.
