Default Stabilitrak Defeat

Has anyone figured out how to turn off the Stabiltrak on a 2011 Traverse? When driving in snow conditions, the system is driving me nuts. I've had the Trailblazer where holding the traction control switch on the shift lever will toggle the system on and off. But this does not work on the Traverse.

This is not a mechannical problem with the vehicle but is a personal driving preference issue. The power reduction and braking whenever the truck corners on snow is enough to make me trade it after one winter here in Minnesota. It is a computer program, so there must be a way to toggle it on and off, unless the lawyers have it locked down so tight there is no option for the owner.

Hey there NoDakEric,

I will be glad to look further into this for you. Please reference page 27 of your owners manual. It gives directions on how to turn the Stabilitrak/Traction Control option off in your vehicle. If you have any additional questions please feel free to send us a private message. Thank you.

Default No option so far

The feedback from the factory and dealer side is that the Stabilitrak system cannot be turned off on this model. My next step is to ask a private shop if they can trace the wiring diagram and install a switch.

I'll keep everyone posted.
