Default Why is it chiming

2024 Chevy Trax

Hey everyone, so 2 questions

1st everytime we close the doors it beeps 3 or 4 times really fast does anyone know what that is?

Also has anyone been able to (for the lack of a better word) jailbreak the infotainment center or unlock some hidden or additional features etc.?

Let me know!

My 2024 LT doesn't do that.

Chiming when the door is closed when you're in the car or outside??

07/29 Update (1): The Trax can chime, chirp or beep. (Beeps are from Assisted Systems (collision, lane change, etc.) and occur only while driving.)

The only thing I could find in the manual re doors and chimes is on page 20, Delayed Locking. "... chime will sound three times indicating delayed locking is active." Check out that page for more detail.

07/29 Update (2): I just spotted this on page 12... "When the vehicle is turned off and an RKE transmitter is left in the vehicle, the horn will chirp three times after all doors are closed.

If those are not it, maybe a call to the dealer is in order. Good Luck.

As if.

The manual is 328 pages of verbose, dysfunctional prose and vague, featureless drawings. (Very much like the one for my 2003 S-10, thankfully only half as thick.). Like how to start the thing with a dead or broken RKE fob is buried on page 14 under "Operating on Vehicles with Transmitter in case of Failure."

If it wasn't for a PDF version and PDF XChange Viewer's competent search engine, I'd still be in that dark about half of the Trax's stuff. Like searching on "chime" to help out mgtechsupport77.

This forum needs a Current Chevrolet Models Trax forum as the previous Trax isn't current at all.

Name it Trax 2024+ and place the old one correctly in Past Chevrolet Cars as Trax 2013-2022.

Cheers.

And yet, I read mine cover to cover so I knew how my vehicle works. Manuals are supposed to be verbose. You can skim through the parts you don't need.

Well, bully for you! You are indeed THE Super Moderator. Good to know.

For the record, your dilution of my post from "verbose, dysfunctional prose" to "verbose" stands here corrected.

I can present below a typical Chevy/GM owner manual page, one that I did not want to skim through (unrelated content obfuscated to avoid confusion).

As for "vague, featureless drawings," how about this?

The two exactly the same illustrations have no basis in reality as I found out when my dealer's service manager demonstrated how to actually do it. There is no insertion into anything as instructed in the 100% dysfunctional step two nor are those two little rectangles ("center of the cap (3)"?) openings for inserting the key. Of course, not to be confused with "the door handle (1)," "the door handle (2)" is a good spot for insertion, don't ya think? In step 4, the actual method to "use the key in the cylinder" is detailed on another page. It's not like grandpa used to do it.

And now that one is in the vehicle with a dead RKE fob, one can start it after having read "Operating on Vehicles with Transmitter in case of Failure" on page 14.

I could post up a dozen or more worthless examples. My 2003 S-10 manual was equally without value. As was the one a for coworker's new 2012 pickup a few years back who brought it to work to help interpret wherein I noted, "This is as bad as my S-10's manual." It went with the S-10 when I traded it in for the Trax, so I can't scan in a good example; I could search to see if one's out there. No.

Hmmmm, what do you think happened to (3) (4) & (5)?

Cheers.

Done. Thanks. Polite is my middle name! Having myself moderated forums, I know how not to be upbraiding. As in your reply to mgtechsupport77. Cheers.
