2005 Chevrolet Uplander No Crank Issue
My 2005 Chevrolet Uplander suddenly would not crank when ignition key is turned to start position. When ignition key is turned all dash lights come on as per usual however when you attempt to engage the starter dash lights go out and starter does not engage. There is NO sound of relays clicking and battery is fine. Traced down and discovered there is no issue with the starter, it operates fine and will turn the motor over when you apply voltage directly to the starter, however the engine will not start and there is no spark. Every mechanic in my town is telling me it's a big electrical issue and would cost a fortune to trace...( personally I believe that many mechanics either no little about 20 year old vehicles or they just don't wanna work on them...FRUSTRATING) I have not tested the "Crank" relay or the Ignition relay (nor can I seem to source replacement relays should I need one) and my abilities to know how to properly test these relays is sketchy at best. The van has sentimental value to me and I wish to keep it on the road in reliable condition.
