Hi i read your problems about your van.. I did not see anything about whether the alternator was changed, or the Voltage regulator.. have either been changed yet??

Hi there,
No, finally brought the Uplander into a GM dealer and the fix was to replace both the BCM and PCM. I had to pay only for the BCM. Seems to be working fine so far.

carllucas, have you spoken with your dealership about a possible diagnosis of your vehicle? This could serve as a starting point for you to fix the vehicle yourself or, if you feel their prices reasonable for the work prescribed, you could have it fixed there as well. I hope this helps you.

Hi,
Can anyone confirm the fix for the "Battery saver active" which switches to "Charging system failure" notification?? Is it the Alternator, voltage regulator, PCM or BCM.??

Default With much Regret...

I traded in my Olds Shillouette for an '08 uplander I have had it a week and the "Service StabilitySystem" light has popped on a few times I have had it back at the dealer 3 times now, I have a feeling they are clearing the fault and crossing thier fingers that the warranty will run out before it comes on again. Anybody else seen this light? I traded in my Olds because the ABS light came on intermittently due to a speed sensor in the wheel bearing. I have a sneaky feeling I've got de Ja Vu all over again.

Any Thoughts?
