Since last fall when I reverse out of driveway or parking space I randomly hear a rubbing noise (brake ???) from rear mostly passenger side rear. seems to be most common in cold weather but occurs in all weather. Cannot see anything rubbing tire or wheel. usually only occurs once for a few seconds and then usually dont hear again for that day. Any ideas. Will it harm anything. Is it a sticky caliper? any thoughts

It may be a caliper issue. I encourage you to have the vehicle inspected by a certified technician for a more accurate diagnosis.

The noise is so random and intermitttent that I cannot bring it in yet because it would just be a frustration of be a could not duplicate problem.

 

Probably just a little rust on the rotors. Goes away when the brakes are first applied.
