Default Sudn Oil Consumption

What would cause a sudden oil consumption increase? The van runs fine and is not leaking it on on the ground. I sometime smell oil burning slightly when stopped, but not all the time.

I can't find a PCV valve when I look at parts stores online.

How much is it consuming? How many miles on it? Smelling it at idle may be a valve cover gasket since you're not seeing it on the ground...

How is your coolant level? Is there oil in the coolant reservoir tank?

The coolant was fine.

Not sure on the miles, but I had just changed oil and the oil was at 85% per the computer.

How much is it consuming? According to GM, 1 quart every 2000 miles is considered acceptable

I think there is some information missing here .....

Have you owned the van since new?
How many miles are on the van?
When did you notice this problem beginning?
Did you change the oil last time or did a shop do it?
What oil & filter are you using?
Do you do your own service (a DIY'er) of does a mechanic do your work?

I would suspect a leaking oil filter
