check the alcohol content sensor reading...if its over 10% get it reset to zero

tech2 - Can you please explain how to reset the alcohol content sensor?

I believe the GM scanner is called a tech2 .. I may be wrong.

I'm right. Google "GM TECH2" or look in You Tube.

right papa bear...tech2 is the factory gm scan tool. Most scan tools able to do this are expensive.


try autoenginuity for a laptop based system that may be able to do this....probably will cost $300.00.


cheapest way would be to look on-line in the classifieds for someone who will come to your location and reset it for a small fee. local shops will check this but you will be into a minimum diagnostic fee of 1/2hour.

I chnaged the o2 sensors, put in 2 new NGK's

same thing.

the check engine light came on 3 minutes after I left the garage.

i hate to say it, but i have no choice to make an appointment with the devil aka the G.M dealer.

What would prompt you to change only 2 spark plugs?

Did you replace O2 sensors with OEM units?

you realize the guy helping you works at a dealer right?
Your best chance to get this fixed right is to go to a dealer who sees this problem 10x more than any independent shop.


When you make your appointment; request that the best drivability technician work on your van. Tell them the joker who worked on it previously (you...heehee) diagnosed it wrong multiple times and caused you to replace the maf, 2 02 sensors and install the wrong brand spark plugs.
