Hey guys,

The alarm has recently started going off randomly. The only way i found to shut it off was by inserting the key in the ignition.

This is of concern to me as i live in a what used to be quiet residential area...

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like a intermittent short in the door ajar switch. See my response on the Malibu with a similar problem in thread https://chevroletforum.com/forum/mal...roblems-31852/. The ajar switch is also integrated into the door latch assembly on yours, except for the switches on the sliding doors' door jams. One of these switches is shorting out.

 

It may also be worth having your battery checked, as a fluctuation in the voltage could be causing to see a change in voltage and falsely go off... just a though...
