Default AC not working 98 venture

Took my venture to the shop yesterday, the mechanic charged the system and said that was fine and checked other things and said its an electrical issue.
the ac switch doesnt light up when i hit it but the mechanic said the fuses are ok.
where can i start my own troubleshooting .. and is it possble to overide compressor relay for a test?

thanks folks

How did the mechanic charge the system without the compressor running? You can jumper out the low pressure switch to cycle the compressor, that is if the system is getting power. You will need a meter and start backtracking from the switch to find where the problem is.

well as i waited he pressures the line with two house in two different connections.
OK ill try jumper out the low pressure switch .. i gotta find out where this is first.
this morning i took my meter to all of the fuses that had any relation to the AC under the hood as well os on the passenger side panel.. and they all seem to check out fine.. one was 20 amp when it should e 10amp but the only issue i couldn't check was ac relay rectangle grey shape with 4 cooper pins.. i did try to check it for continuity but the meter didn't beep for that.
as i type now i have the electrical panel apart for the AC switch which doesn't light up at all ! i gotta find out which wire is the power for AC switch to test now. the ac light used to come on last summer but there was no gas in it then; now there's gas but no light.
