We've got a 2002 Chevy Cavalier LS with a 2.2L. We've have been having constant overheating issues with it for the past year. The first thing replaced was the water pump(no good) then the radiator and hoses. It ran good for a while then continued to heat up. Car sat for a long while then we noticed water in the oil, lots of water. Sat for a while longer then the cylinder head was replaced. Car ran fine for about 150 miles then overheated again. What could be causing these continual overheating issues, we are about to have the thing hauled off.

Sorry to hear. It sounds like you should have found a new shop after the water pump. Since they obviously kept guessing and throwing parts at the problem, I wouldn't be surprised if they botched the head job. I'd go back and see what they say and then get a second opinion elsewhere.

Also, lots of shops will buy a rebuilt head and lots of times that head will have been cracked before and then welded and repaired. These welded heads are a crap shoot to be honest. When this happened to me I found King Cylinder Heads and they carry these heads new and complete www.kingcylinderheads.com It was a nice quality head and about the same price as some of the shops wanted for rebuilt ones.
