1954 Chevy COE Tourliner Is the Most Amazing RV Ever

By -

If you want to see the U.S. of A. in style, this custom Chevy COE RV is the only way to go!

Let’s face the facts – RVs are boring. Giant, boxy, and typically driven by old folks wearing long socks and short shorts. There has to be a better way to navigate your way around this great country of ours, right? Well, we’re here to tell you there is. And it’s behind the wheel of this incredible 1954 Chevy COE Tourliner. With a design meshing classic Chevy lines with a touch of Airstream, it’s easily the best looking “recreational vehicle” we’ve ever laid eyes on.

And it should be, as a reported 6,000 man hours went into crafting this masterpiece. A modified RV chassis sits underneath the custom camper body, which is fashioned out of aluminum. Power comes from a thoroughly modern Cummins diesel, which pumps out an impressive 400 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque, yet returns 20 miles per gallon.

As amazing as the outside of this Chevy COE is, the inside looks like the place to be. The driver is treated to niceties like Dakota Digital gauges, air ride, A/C, a tilt wheel, and power steering and brakes. The entire inside is stitched up in leather with a variety of birch, cherry, and teak wood trim. And that’s just the beginning.

In the back of this reimagined hauler you’ll find everything you’d expect to see in an RV. That includes a propane-powered stove, fridge, shower and toilet, and even a hot water heater. It’s a mix of vintage accessories and modern flair, with plenty of LED lighting for nighttime reading.

If there’s a better (or more stylish) way to traverse the good ol’ U.S. of A., we haven’t seen it. But the best news is, this stunning converted COE is currently for sale. Just be prepared to add several zeroes to the purchase price!
