1972 Chevy C10 Has Led an Educational Life
Built by the hands of countless students, this classic Chevy C10 has everything you could want and more!
Most classic trucks live a pretty simple life. They go through their years with one, maybe two or three owners. They do everything from hauling mulch to hauling the family to church. And if they’re lucky enough, maybe they even undergo a full restoration and get a second, more relaxing lease on life. Or, in the case of this 1972 Chevy C10 we spotted over at The Collector Car Network, maybe they live their life as an educator.
For 15 years, this classy vintage pickup did just that, serving as a project vehicle for local high school students. Teaching the future generations how to perform both mechanical and cosmetic work. Which is why this Chevy C10 is a bit of Frankenstein, sporting a 1967 front end and a 454 from a 1977 Chevy truck. But now, this long-time teacher is headed to retirement, and in search of a new owner!
While not an absolutely perfect, frame-off, show-worthy restoration, the old Chevy C10 is certainly close. The paint and bodywork are nearly flawless, and the frame has been completely gone through and painted. The interior, interestingly fitted with a Dodge Ram power seat, is simply immaculate. The truck looks more like a professional redo than something completed by the hands of students.
And then there’s that glorious big block. On the top end, you’ll find matched Edelbrock RPM heads, intake, and even Proflow fuel-injection. The bottom end is every bit as nice, with Keith Black pistons, Edelbrock cam, roller lifters, and Competition Cam roller rockers. The seller hasn’t had this beast on the dyno, but estimates output at around 550 horsepower.
Great looks, tons of power, and a seriously cool history? Rarely do you see trifecta of awesome, but this Chevy C10 has it all!
