2024 Silverado EV

It may not arrive for two more years, but the 2024 Silverado EV is making the auto show rounds now and giving us up-close looks.

The 2024 Silverado EV will arrive at dealerships in the summer of 2024. But you can see one right now at the New York International Auto Show. The folks at Autoevolution were there and snapped some pics of this future Chevy. We have been talking about this truck for a year now. And Chevy has formally unveiled it. If you want to reserve your own, you can do so by clicking here. But if you are holding out until you get a better look, this is a great opportunity to see the truck in the metal.

The images that Chevy released to the world when the truck was unveiled were great, but they can’t beat candid photos taken on a show floor. And while the photos may not reveal anything new, they do remind us of all the brilliant features that will be packed into this truck when it finally arrives.

Pricing

2024 Silverado EV

One of the most exciting aspects of the 2024 Silverado EV is the relatively affordable starting price. The base WT model is expected to come with an MSRP of $39,990. Of course, the truck on display at the New York International Auto Show is not a base WT model. The truck we see here is a $107,000 RST model. It makes sense that Chevy shows the fully loaded model as it wants to demonstrate all the available features. And while the price spread from the WT to the loaded RST is considerable, it is expected that several other trim levels will fill out the Silverado EV lineup and slot between the WT and RST.

A Look Under the Hood

Interior

Typically looking at a new vehicle at a car show the engine would be a central focal point. However, with an EV it is not always easy. And if you pop the hood on the Silverado EV you are met with an enormous cargo hold, but no engine to ogle over. In its most powerful form the all-electric Silverado will pack up to 664 horsepower and more than 780 foot-pounds of torque. It will rocket to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. That will be combined with a 400-mile range. It will also tow up to 10,000 pounds with a future WT model expected to be able to tow up to double that amount. This truck will perform no matter what metric you use to measure it by.

Other Exciting Features

Mulit-Flex

If the performance numbers are not enough to excite you perhaps some of the other specs will do the trick. The clever Multi-Flex Midgate will allow you to haul items that are over 10-feet in length. Super Cruise will allow you to enjoy hands-free driving and trailering across 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada. Of course, even when in hands-free driving mode you should keep your eyes on the road. But at your next stop take a look up. You will find overhead a panoramic fixed-glass roof that will give you a view never before seen from the seat of a pickup truck.

Coming Soon

Interior

There is a lot to like about the 2024 Silverado EV. The more we see of it the harder the wait is going to be. And once we get a chance to actually drive one, we are willing to bet the wait will be even tougher. You would be wise to get your reservation in now.
