Chevy C10

After sitting in storage for 23 years, this special edition Chevy C10 is ready to celebrate for the second time in its life!

To be frank, we’ll never really understand why folks store away their classic rides for decades. The age-old phenomenon never really made any sense to us, as we like to drive and enjoy our rides. But for various reasons unknown, plenty of people did exactly that over the last several decades. On the bright side, we get to enjoy seeing these gems emerge from storage looking like rolling time capsules. Just take this 1968 Chevy C10 that we spotted at Carlisle Auctions, for example.

After sitting in storage for 23 years, this Chevy C10 emerged at a very opportune time. Because, you see, this particular model sports a special gold paint scheme to celebrate Chevy’s 50th truck anniversary. Seeing as how 2018 marks the brand’s centennial of truck production, the timing couldn’t be any more perfect for it to once again see the light of day. And the coolest thing about the truck is that it looks just as it did 50 years ago.

The current owner did give the classic Chevy C10 a complete mechanical once-over, which it obviously needed after collecting dust for so long. Thankfully, however, they kept everything 100% stock. With a mere 100 miles on the odometer since, she’s ready to roll for another 50 years.

Really the only downside here is that it’s a long-bed model. And of course, that gold and beige combo is an acquired taste, though admittedly super chic in the late ’60s. Plus, this one has the underpowered 307 under the hood. But for the savvy collector, those things just mean you’re getting a discount on the sales price. Personally, we’re digging this truck and everything it represents as a period correct piece.

This old Chevy C10 is certainly ready to party once again, and we know all you Chevy truck lovers are too!
