The good old days meet the cutting edge at one Minnesota Chevy dealership.

Pickup trucks now are better than they’ve ever been – more rugged, more durable, more capable, and yet more car-like than ever. That’s a good thing, since it seems that the pickup truck is America’s choice for daily transportation, even if the average buyer never uses it for its intended purpose.

Today’s sophisticated hardware is a far cry from the C/K pickups of the ’70s and ’80s, but we can’t help but feel nostalgic about those rugged, boxy pickups. They had a certain presence to them, and their two-tone paint jobs made them seem, in a way, classy, like a flannel shirt buttoned to the top, tucked into a pair of Wrangler jeans.

We know we’re not alone in this sentiment, and one dealership aims to satisfy Chevy truck fans who want to have their cake and eat it, too. Blake Greenfield Chevrolet, a dealership in Minnesota, has been hard at work converting modern Chevrolet pickup trucks into modern classics.

More than just a retro-flavored tape-stripe package, several small, subtle modifications combine to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Large, proud throwback badges look like they belong. White-painted steel wheels are reminiscent of the “wagon wheels” popular in the ’70s and ’80s. They’re shod, naturally, with beefy, blocky off-road tires with raised white letters. A 2″ lift clears the rubber and gives the truck an appropriately heavy-duty appearance.

It seems like the concept of combining modern comfort, convenience, and reliability with classic looks is a simple one. We’re honestly surprised that nobody has really done it before. However, it’s the attention to detail that makes the Blake Greenfield Super 10 conversions truly special. With a little imagination and some cash, they’ll be more than happy to build you one, too.
