Classic C10 is a Show-stopper

1987 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe

With eye-searing paint and massive chrome wheels, this isn’t your average C10.

Here at ChevroletForum, we’re big fans of classic Chevy C/K pickups, especially the third generation, which ran from 1973 all the way up to 1987. Over that time, it had a few minor updates, but the overall style remained the same.

GM knew not to mess too much with a good thing, and as a result, the boxy, understated looks never truly went out of style. Even today, you’ll find fans of the classic design, and even modern Chevy pickups bear a family resemblance.

Understated, however, is not a word we’d even consider using to describe this Custom Deluxe we found on Hemmings. Produced in the final year of production for this body, the builder decided to send it off with a bang, utilizing the massive slab sides of the cab and bed as billboards to show off some intricate flamework.

The main color, an eye-searing bright lime green, is joined by a deep candy green and fire orange to complete the look, while blacked-out grille trim make sure that nothing distracts you from the arrow-straight body and wild custom paint. Staggered five spoke wheels — 18″ up front, 20″ in the back — add to a slightly raked stance, giving this truck a racy look.

It’s got some power to back up those sport truck looks, too, thanks to a recent heart transplant in the form of a 350 V8 backed by a 700R4 overdrive. While there’s no photos of the interior, we imagine it’d be a nice place to spend some time, assuming that the owner put as much effort into the inside as they put everywhere else.

We do know that it has an upgraded modern stereo and A/C, which is more than enough to satisfy us on a long trip. Power steering and brakes will make sure the truck drives and looks as good as it stops.

While the seller refers to it as a show truck, we’d be more than happy to make this our daily driver — we’d just have to get used to all the attention.
