Two-tone K10 Cheyenne packs a big 454 punch under the hood, looks stunning in gray and red under the hot August sun.

Summer is nearing its end, and the signs are already here: sales on back-to-school supplies, Halloween candy on the shelves nearby, you’re working on your fantasy football team on your app while everyone else is shopping, and so on. Thus, there’s not much time left to enjoy all that the current season has to offer.

Of course, if you happen to have a Chevy truck, then you know you’ll be good for all seasons; they’re built like a rock, after all. And we can’t think of a better way to make the transition from summer’s heat to falling leaves than this two-tone K10 Cheyenne we found heading up to auction at MAG Auctions’ annual ‘Hot August Nights’ in Reno, Nevada this weekend.

The two-tone K10 looks stunning in its Ghost Grey Metallic and Victory Red, a rolling representative of the summer-to-fall transition if there ever was one. The faux-wood trim on the tailgate ties it all together, as do the strips of chrome with black inserts. And you can’t beat the fresh set of white-letters mounted over the stock wheels, either.

Powering the K10’s corners is a big 454 under the gray hood, which was rebuilt not too long ago, and only has 100 miles on it. We don’t know how much power is there, but with crate 454s making anywhere from over 400 to 500 horses and beyond, it can definitely bust through those corn field mazes, then bring home a few bushels for popping later in the cool evening.

Inside the K10 is a classic, cozy interior with houndtooth and gray fabric wrapped over the bench, plenty of chrome trim over the black and gray spots, and power steering to wrangle those ponies around the corners. There’s also an AM/FM system with Bluetooth for connecting your smartphone so you can play your favorite sports talk station wherever you go.

Whoever is lucky enough to take this K10 home from the auction floor this weekend will have quite the truck to enjoy on those cooler days and longer nights to come.
