Watch the Chevy Blazer EV SS hit an iconic track and show off its 600+ horsepower with pro pilots behind the wheel.

We’ve been faced with a flurry of news surrounding the Chevy Blazer EV SS lately, starting with that model’s appearance at the recent Daytona 500 – where it became the first all-electric pace car at that iconic race – while also receiving confirmation that it will churn out a bit more power than previously expected. While enthusiasm for EVs, in general, isn’t quite what it was a couple of years ago, there’s no denying that the Chevy Blazer EV SS is a capable performance machine, and that fact is on full display in this recent video from Chevrolet itself.

In the short clip – dubbed “Experience the Sound of Performance” – we get to see NASCAR drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain get behind the wheel of the Chevy Blazer EV SS and take it for a spin around Daytona, and they’re immediately impressed with the all-electric crossover’s torque off the line. The duo also note that the Blazer EV SS handles the track rather smoothly compared to their Cup cars, walking away quite impressed with the new model, overall.

Originally tabbed to produce 557 horsepower, GM recently revealed that the Chevy Blazer EV SS is actually churning out 615 hp, along with 650 pound-feet of torque – at least, while in Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode. That enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, making it the quickest SS model Chevrolet has ever produced, and it still nets 303 miles of range, to boot. Other than custom graphics and embedded strobe lighting, the pace version of the Blazer EV SS didn’t receive any sort of modifications either, because it didn’t really need any.

Aside from its power powerful pair of electric motors, the Chevy Blazer EV SS also gets a few additional enhancements such as Brembo brakes up front, and a sport-tuned chassis, all with a base price of $61,995.

For those that appreciate tech, the sporty crossover also gets the same massive 17.7-inch infotainment screen as the regular Blazer EV, along with three years of Super Cruise, a head-up display, and HD surround vision. In terms of options, the Chevy Blazer EV SS can be paired with a set of gloss black 22-inch wheels in place of the standard machined-face pieces, which come wrapped with summer tires.
