Chevy Blazer Pro-Touring

Topless ’72 Blazer has plenty of horsepower and a custom interior to enjoy the magnificent symphony. And it’s all yours for $79,000.

The pro-touring scene has done a lot to shake things up from pro-street era of custom builds. Instead of building Camaros and Novas to the point where they can only be trailered to and fro, such cars can now actually make the most of each and every corner they come across along the way to the car show. And should the show happen to have an autocross event, they’ll gladly have a grand ol’ time around the cones, too, while the pro-streeters will have to settle for just looking good munching on grass.

But why stop at only the obvious examples, though? The other day, we happened upon this 1972 Blazer up for sale on Facebook by its current owner. It, too, was built to corner, and to look good doing it. Let’s see what’s going on with this topless wonder, shall we?

“I have a 1972 Pro Touring real 2wd Blazer with a clean title,” the seller says. “This rides awesome with the air ride and plenty of power from the 485-HP LS3, and it looks beautiful.”

Starting with the outside, the Blazer rides on a set of custom 22-inch wheels painted in black with chrome accents. Each wheel is fitted over a Wilwood disc brake, the rear pair are attached to a 12-inch with 3.55 gears, the fronts are linked to a power rack-and-pinion steering setup, and all corners ride upon a cushion of air.

It’s what’s inside that counts on this Blazer, though. Under the hood is, as mentioned, the LS3 making 485 horses to the rear via a six-speed automatic. An aluminum radiator with a pair of electric fans keeps the big motor cool, while the headers and Flowmaster exhaust guarantee those horses will sound fantastic.

Behind the LS3 is a custom interior in black with gray quilted accents, a center console for holding your beverages of choice from the convenience store, and lots of chrome. A set of aftermarket gauges, stereo system with Bluetooth, and air conditioning round out this pro-touring extravaganza.

The only stumbling block the seller might face is the price they’re asking for this excellent Blazer build: $79,000. That’s a lot of money for this topless steed, and may be a bridge too far for some. That said, we hope its new owner gets their money’s worth and then some from this magnificent machine.
