The Coolest Chevy Trucks, SUVs to Rock the 2019 L.A. Auto Show
The holiday decorations may already be hung, but there’s still more Chevy goodness left to share from the City of Angels!
It’s hard to believe we’re in the final month of not only 2019, but of the 2010s. There’s so much to look forward to seeing in the decade to come, especially from Chevrolet. From the C8-era of America’s sports car, the Corvette, to the electrification of its truck lineup, the future’s already looking bright for the Bow Tie.
Before we take that leap into the future, though, we’ve got a few Chevy trucks and SUVs you’ll likely see in the showroom in the new year, if not already. Chevrolet recently brought a few of their rigs to the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in Los Angeles, ones we’d like to share with you.
Remember this one from SEMA 2019? That’s right! It’s the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Edition, a collaboration between Chevy and the workwear brand.
Based off of the Silverado HD LTZ with the Z71 package, the Carhartt Edition dresses up the body surrounding the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8 in Mosaic Black Metallic with a yellow pinstripe across the top of the body, plus Carhartt logos all around.
The Carhartt theme continues inside, with the company’s name and logo stitched into the headrests. The tonneau cover, too, has the logo stitched into the right rear corner. This special Silverado will arrive in showrooms in the fall of 2020.
Want to be the boss of your own trail in the New ’20s? Then this is the truck for you: the 2020 Silverado Trail Boss.
The Silverado Trail Boss is available on the Custom and LT trim levels, though you’ll only find the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 on the Custom Trail Boss.
What makes the Trail Boss stand out is its Z7X Suspension Package. The package includes a rear-locking diff, a two-inch lift, a two-speed electronic transfer case, hill descent control, off-road suspension, skid plates, and a set of Goodyear DuraTrac all-terrain tires. This trim has been available on the lot since the new Silverado landed in the 2019 model year.
Here’s another red gem from Chevy, the Blazer RS. This crossover takes after the Camaro in styling, and has some power to keep up with the lower trim levels of Chevy’s pony car.
Under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6, delivering 308 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque to the corners to help push the crossover to 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds.
It may not be an off-roader, but the Blazer RS will make any road trips a pleasant experience, thanks to the 4G LTE wi-fi hotspot (so no one is disconnected on the road), and the MyChevrolet infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Leather seating no doubt helps, as well.
There were also a pair of Silverado 2500HD models hanging out among the rest of the Chevy lineup on the floor of the L.A. Auto Show, each showing how you can have your big rig.
The white Silverado 2500HD Custom has a body-color “Chevrolet” bar in the middle of the blacked-out grill, behind it which is the 6.6-liter, 401-horsepower V8. The truck has a sporty appearance overall, though it’s the kind meant for taking on the toughest of terrains.
The blue Silverado 2500HD Z71, on the other hand, packs a big punch under the hood, in the form of the 6.6-liter Duramax twin-turbo V8. The beefy V8 only has 445 horses, but those horses are clydesdales, whose combined 910 lb-ft of torque can pull a few redwood tree stumps without breaking a sweat.
We can’t wait to see what the new decade will bring to Chevrolet. Looks like we’re off to a great start, though!
