Three-Wheeled Chevy Silverado Is a Strange & Mysterious Build

Three-Wheeled Chevy Silverado

It’s unclear why the owner of this bizarre three-wheeled Chevy Silverado built it, but there’s clearly nothing like it.

The automotive world is full of strange builds with mysterious origins, the sort of things that make you scratch your head in bewilderment and wonder, why would anyone do such a thing? We’ve certainly covered our fair share of these weird rides over the years, but few can compare to this bizarre three-wheeled Chevy Silverado that’s been the subject of internet lore for some time now. However, Abrhan Gonzalez just snagged the best photos of this beast we’ve seen yet in Kilgore, Texas, and posted them in the Facebook group GMT800s With Threatening Auras, which gives us an excuse to take a much closer look at it.

What’s particularly interesting about this weird Chevy Silverado build is that no one knows the motives behind why it exists. Three-wheelers have always been niche vehicles for a reason – they generally don’t present the best handling characteristics, and in some cases, can be downright dangerous, as any old Top Gear fan is well aware from Jeremy Clarkson‘s hilarious stint with a Reliant Robin. Morgan has been building good ones for a while, but in that case, the single wheel is in the rear, not the front.

Though we don’t know the owner’s motivations behind this one-of-a-kind project, we can see that there is indeed a single front wheel mounted on an L-shaped piece protruding from the front. We can’t tell if this piece is simply welded to the frame or if it’s attached to some sort of suspension, but it clearly turns and has a functioning brake, as well as a fender to keep the front end clear from road debris.

The front wheel wells are also filled in because they’re not being used anymore, and the whole thing is covered in the classic John Deere hues of green and yellow. It’s not a surprise that this build has piqued the interest of everyone on the web, but its origins remain a mystery. However, we have faith that someone will eventually track down its owner and get the scoop, and we’re betting that the story behind this particular build is bound to be interesting, to say the least.
