Wicked ’69 Chevrolet C20 4×4 Is an All-around Stunner
Tastefully designed and flawlessly executed, Chevrolet pickups just don’t get better than this beautiful behemoth.
We come across beautiful trucks all the time. But every so often, we find Chevrolet pickups that are truly next-level. This insanely gorgeous 1969 Chevrolet C20 that we spotted at Streetside Classics is obviously one of those finds. The person that conceived the idea for this build and invested in it obviously had quite the vision, and the result of that labor and outlay of cash is one of the coolest trucks you’ll ever lay eyes on.
This 3/4-ton version of arguably Chevy’s greatest truck design ever started out life as a two-wheel-drive. The first order of business was to convert it to a four-wheeler and give it the kind of menacing stance guaranteed to intimidate. The seller didn’t provide any details on how that conversion was done, but it certainly sports a considerable lift as well. The beefy build now sits on a set of 8-lug wheels wrapped in knobby Toyo Open Country tires.
We’re also digging the step side bed and cowl hood on this classic Chevrolet. And the fact that it’s black, because what other color would you paint something this intimidating? Take a glance at the interior and drivetrain, and you’ll quickly realize that a lot of money was spent making all this happen, too. The cab is laden with all sorts of custom parts, including the door panels and a bench seat with houndstooth inserts. A modern gauge cluster, air conditioning, and touchscreen stereo are nice upgrades, too.
To move this big old Chevrolet around, the previous owner went with a crate 454 for big power. The big block has a slew of upgrades as well. Including Holley Terminator electronic fuel injection, ATK heads, and Hooker headers. Shifts are handled by a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission for easy cruising. And there are plenty of other mechanical conveniences, too. Including power disc brakes and power steering that make driving this C20 a joy.
It’s pretty obvious that somebody spent a lot of time and money making this classic Chevy the ultimate truck. And we’d say they succeeded. Tastefully designed and flawlessly executed, pickups just don’t get much better than this behemoth.
