Default 1994 Z71 Electrical system upgrade

I’m seeking information on sound an electrical system upgrade, I have recently added dual electric cooling fans and led headlights. The fans combined pull 49.5 amps. Since adding them my electrical system has started glitching, I have read about upsizing my alternator and wire size. I’m unsure if there is anything more internal that needs to be updated.

alternator is a good start.
that is a big draw. how are the fans controlled so they don't run all the time?

Welcome to the forum. Curious why you added the fans over stock set up.

Stock setup robs 15-20 horsepower, not to mention gas mileage. In the future I plan on replacing the engine with a not so stock setup so I’m laying some upfront ground work

that was the point i was interested in. a 50amp draw on the alternator would be the higher hp drain over the stock system if it was running continuously.

i suggest 5-7 hp when engaged and 2hp when freewheeling for a fan clutch

would an alternator upgrade not be a good solution for that?

Wouldn’t an alternator upgrade be a good solution for the loss of HP based on the extra amperage draw?

it would be a good upgrade as you may need more amp output from the alternator to meet electrical requirements when the fans are running.
there is no free lunch...the more load on the system the more the bigger alt will load the engine. the only sa vings you get r when the fans are off.
