Lower radiator hose issues PLEASE HELP
Ok I'm not new to working on cars but that goes as far as replacing a stock part, that said.... i have a 92 chevy K1500 with a 4.3 v6...love me a 4.3 ..they can't be killed! Anyway this truck was a work truck for a self employed scrapper, dude put whatever parts he could make fit and work....I've replaced a ton of maintenance parts on this truck.....the issue I'm having now is my serpentine belt is cutting into my lower radiator hose..the intel hose I'm told it called(?) .....I literally just put a new hose on this past weekend, drove it once it's leaking again. I've read that it could actually be the belt being stretched out but the knowledge I do have tells me that's not it...so one has anyone else had this issue and remedied it..or 2 I've seen universal flexible hoses on Amazon and autozone websites..can I use one of these as a permanent fix? I'm good right now to drive it but I NEED to get it worked out before summer hits..a 3rd part to my question is does anyone know how much clearance is supposed to be between the lower radiator hose and the belt? I was told about an 1/8th of an inch but don't see how that's possible
I have A 93 1500 5.7 And the space on mine between them is 1 1/8 have you checked the alignment on your pullys?
I know when I replaced my hoses they seemed to be just a little to long, so on the lower hose I pretty much customized it, but works amazing.

This is just a thought but since you say that the previous owner put all kinds of different parts on this truck I wonder if he at one time replaced the radiator that is not the correct one for that model ( Junk Yard Radiator) maybe Or, maybe he used the wrong bottom radiator mounts/ pads under the radiator that would bring the radiator up higher that its normal height bringing the bottom hose outlet higher and thus bringing it closer to the belt. Like I say, just a thought.

That's a good thing to check, I'm not having that problem, it was someone else, but I am having a problem with my break lights. They just stopped working, and I can't seem to fix them. I would like to just run new wire from fuse box to the lights but don't know how. So I have a toggle switch.lol any ideas
