Default passlock wires broke at connector-HELP!

My better half has a 1998 chevy cheyenne 2500hd that he recently changed the ignition lock cylinder on. Well, the 3 wires that are technically go to the ignition hall effect switch broke off at the connector. ( these are the three wires that go to the passlock security system and go to that little connector that plugs up by the ignition cylinder) well since those wires broke, now the security system light is flashing and the truck cranks and turn right back off. We know how to bypass the system but everyone says the red wire must stay connected. Well all three broke off from the connector almost flush so there is no fixing it without getting a new connector with longer wires and straight wiring it. Will this red wire have to be connected for us to bypass the security or is there another way?
thanks for the help!

well, after reading several threads on here, I told him to try leaving the switch on until the security light stopped flashing (about 10 min) and then try to start it and sure enough, it was fine! If we have anymore problems I will send you a picture. it is the connector that plugs in right by the ignition lock cylinder. its the wires that go to the passlock system. thank you for taking the time to respond!

Try the junk yards to find the plug if you still need it.

Default cannot bypass passlock system

so we had a problem with our 1998 chevy cheyenne 2500hd sometimes not cranking. when we had this problem, the dash lights wouldn't come on and then sure enough it would not start. so my boyfriend replaced the ignition lock cylinder. in the process of doing this, he noticed that the three wires attached to the connector by the ignition cylinder were broken, ( we think this engaged the security system) and because of where the wires broke off, he could not splice them back to the connector. so he connected a resister to the wires and thought he had bypassed it. he left the switch on and waited for the security light to go off and then the truck cranked and ran fine. after getting home and leaving it off overnight, now it will not start again. nothing comes on but the radio when you turn the switch. i tried to hook up the scanner to the truck and when i did the scan every system said not equipped. it wont even register on the scanner. this is the work truck and the only way of going right now. can anyone please help??

The wires broke off from this little bitty connector which plugs in right next to the ignition lock cylinder. Now we're getting no power to anything except the radio inside the truck. No dash lights will come on and truck will not crank

I can barely see anything because it's out of focus, but it looks the wire terminals pulled out of the housing , You may just be able to put them back in. If not then replace the connector.
