NV4500 most likely, don't think a NV3500 would hold up to a 454, it hardly holds up to a 350.

Because of the gearing I'm not sure many consider it a "high performance" transmission, I'd consider it more of a heavy duty transmission. I think most go to the T-56 for performance, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thank you. Do you know where I can get a complete one? Do you know if I need a adapter?

What kind of performance are you hoping for? In other words, what’s your intention for the truck (heavier duty towing/hauling or drag racing)?

What you want to do with it is the primary factor in what transmission you want to use.

An adapter/the correct bell housing should be available from who you purchase the transmission from (if you buy a new or reman unit) or they should at least be able to provide you with a source and/or part numbers for what you need.

As far as use some off-road, mud, recovery, but mostly being fast. What do you recommend?

Then the T-56 should work just fine. If you were wanting to make it more of a work horse (towing/hauling) I was going to recommend a reman stock trans from someplace like Jasper - they don’t just rebuild them but make improvements as they go. You can also custom order a transmission to fit your needs.
