Trying to install a after market radio in my 2006 Silverado, bought a metra adapter for it, matched color for color plugged it in and nothing. It came with a long red wire that wasnt attached to the adapter. Ill admit this is my first time, so where does that red wire hook too...thank you

 

Welcome from Florida. Red is almost always the 12 volt wire that is powered when the key is turned on. There should be a schematic that came with the radio that would show what each wire is for.
