Hello all! I have a dash light indicator that I can not find anywhere, not even lord Google knows. Hopefully someone can send me in the right direction. It’s attached as a photo. On a 2002 2500HD. What is this indicator?

I am not sure. Best way to find out is with a OBDII code scanner.
I’m digging on this - I’ve serviced a lot of GM trucks from this era and I’ve never seen this indicator either. The service manual states to refer to the owners manual for specific indicator descriptions.
Some things that might help figure it out -
Is it a Chevy or GMC?
Gas or diesel? Or Is it alternative fuel, such as CNG or propane?
What about emissions - is it a California or Canada truck?

It’s Chevy but was CNG. The CNG tank was added after market (so I was told), but it’s been removed. I’m not sure if Chevy came stock with some sort of CNG low level indicator? It’s not in the manual anywhere but I’ll try lord Google again to see if CNG vehicles have some sort of indicator. Also this fault code does not come up on a scan - tried that too.

Thank you!
An alternative fuel/bi-fuel package was available in 2002, but I’ve no idea how many were built, nor have I ever serviced one. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn if it was primarily special order or designated for municipalities with high emissions standards.
It’s possible the truck was converted to CNG using aftermarket parts but installing an indicator in the cluster is a lot farther than most people would go when the relative gauges and lights could be mounted on top of the dash.
Did you scan the entire system for codes or just the PCM? By 2002, The indicators were controlled using data from other modules, so whatever system it’s tied to wouldn’t necessarily set codes in the PCM.

That’s helpful as I just scanned only the PCM. I took it to a service shop where they have a better setup and found all the mess with the injectors was still in the system as I only had fuel system codes show for me. After those were cleared, the check engine light stayed off after reset. But that pesky indicator never went off. One of my Army buddies made the joke that it’s the blinker fluid indicator.

My brother-in-law has been a GM car salesman for pretty much his entire working life (family business).
I sent him a screenshot and asked if he’d ever seen one, and his response was “Of course! That’s the indicator light that tells you the shock absorber is partially submerged in water. I see it all the time!”
You might try running the VIN decoder - maybe it will tell you the truck’s original purpose and provide a hint.
