Default Help! Picked up a 04 Silverado z71 5.3 and it has a no crank. e

New battery, starter, ground wire, only clicks. Tried to jump the relay only clicks. Tried 2 other starters. Same outcome. It's like the motor is froze up. I try the starter out of truck and it works fine. Any suggestions?

Have you checked the positive battery cable that runs to the starter? It could be bad due to corrosion (look for green grunge under the insulation at the terminal ends). Also, can you measure what the battery voltage is at both the positive battery terminal and the battery terminal on the starter solenoid using a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) when you try and start the engine? The voltages should be within a couple of tenths of a volt (e.g. 11.5 V at the battery and 11.4 V at the starter solenoid battery terminal - this is OK). Any more than a few tenths of a volt and the battery to starter cable should be suspect.

The starter has the same voltage as the battery terminals, I know this thing ran when I bought it a month ago, no way it's froze up!??!
