Default Noisy compressor at start up

Noisy a.c. compressor at start up. I charged the a.c. compressor to 45 psi as instructed on the temp. Chart at 78f.

right off the top, my guess with what you post, clutch is the issue. You state you charged it, if it is low, you have a leak.

I'd junk out that compressor, It's down to the noise now. Why allow it to put more junk into the system? He's already said it was low on refrigerant. So the compressor is damaged and putting crap into his A/C system as he has a leaking A/C system. No clutch is gonna fix that Kevin..

I am sorry to tell you this, but if your A/C won't go below 50 F it's gone and done with. You'll need to flush it, change the canister and compressor, and the orifice valve. Pumping more R134a, even with sealant, won't help you one bit and you are wasting $$$.

My apologies about the A/C compressor issue, Kevin. Once the refrigerant becomes too low, the PAG lubricant won't reach the A/C compressor, so it becomes damaged. After all, the compressor is the heart of the A/C system, and the only reason why it needs PAG oil is since it's really the only reason the system needs a lubricant, as it's the only truly moving part. Just as the engine requires motor oil for lubrication, if it becomes too low, the engine will become damaged. I hope that explains what is happening. Yes, I know that there is a low-pressure switch, but it may not be working properly, or at all. I have seen this condition occur before, thus my diagnosis.
