I have this weird issue going on with my truck. It’s a 2002 Silverado z71. I’ve had an alarm system with remote start on it for the last 3 years with no issues. I only have a small sound system and aftermarket stereo and door speakers an amp and a sub all done professionally. Upgraded the radiator and done the e-d fan conversion (tuned) Also have an 6 high mod for the lights. Everything in the truck works flawlessly. So that’s pretty much the back story. On to the issue that I am having is one day maybe a month or so ago is that when I switched my key off in the ignition the truck shut down very slowly, the engine shuts down immediately but all the electronics in the truck(gauge cluster, stereo, fans, etc….) all shut down very slowly and seems like it’s just slowly fading if that makes any sense. If anyone has any advice please let me know.
what I have done: power probed with a trace looking for shot to grounds and opens, I have ran this procedure through both fuse boxes and traced all the wires through the cab with no luck. Like I said everything works perfectly. So I know there isn’t any wiring issue. I don’t know how to test a (bcm) if anyone does please comment or message me. Or any other ideas of what it could be. Thanks in advance
I have a 2002 Silverado that I've had some wiring issues with. I took off the underhood fusebox cover and found two wires that weren't connected to anything. They come from the harness going through the firewall into the cab. Does anyone know what they are hooked to? I can't discern anywhere to hook them up.
To DBoone - the red wire is for charging a battery in a trailer that is towed. Not sure what the blue wire is for. Perhaps you can download a pdf of the owner's manual and find the answer there.
