Default Radio loc

I've recently purchased a 2001 silverado and while working on it I disconnected the battery. Well most of you know the radio locks. I can't seem to find the number written anywhere and the phone number plastered all over the internet doesn't seem to be working... Please if anyone can help it would be great. The numbers I have are 012, 015. The unlock code or a number to call would be very helpful. Tia much appreciated.

Has to be another way to get the 4 digit code.
I gave up trying to find someone to help me. So I tried cutting the number 8 pin (according to some people that worked on some) first and that got me part way there. It still didn't play music just showed the stations. So I cut the rest of the pins on that side 5,6,7 now everything works except for preset don't stay. Clock is fine it holds the time fine. I plan on doing some more testing but haven't yet. Probably end up buying a cheap MP3 player. I have too many expenses, about to go on an extended road trip. I thought about calling places that sell batteries. They may have dealt with this idk. What make and model do you have?

My old radio doesn't light up like it should and it won't play the rear speakers in my truck. My Pioneer played in all the speakers, so I know it's not the speakers. But for now I just want music and I want this radio UNLOCKED. All it's lights work too darn it. But that stupid GM Assistance Phone line doesn't work or the recording is not picking up.
To say it came from X truck or x year does not tell me about the radio make or model. If you tell me the radio make and model I might have seen it or know how I might be able to help idk if I can but maybe. This is the radio I have.

the dealer should be able to unlock it with a scan tool.

pretty sure they would also program the vin into the radio with the scan tool, then set up the correct radio configuration. if the radio you salvaged comes from a different radio option build...it needs programming.

When I go into a business and ask for a service...I expect to get charged. Someone has to pay the tech to bring in the vehicle, connect the scan tool and program the radio.

I find it hard to believe that ripping out somebody's stereo and plugging it into my vehicle, is as easy as making a phone call.
