Default Truck won’t start after removing instrument cluster!?!

02 Chevy Silverado

So i was changing out the cluster bulbs to add a new look to it and when i went i installed it back it wouldn’t start. At first it you can hear the starter clicking but nothing. I jumped it off another truck and turned on perfectly fine and that’s it. I noticed on my the back of the clusters circuit board the the solder joints for the main power connection goes through is broken and when i make the connection meet and hold it together the cluster works fine. Does the broken joints have to do with any of it or is it my battery?? please help i have little knowledge on electronics.

Yes. The cluster’s on these trucks are known for several problems including broken and cold solder joints.

Plenty of vendors available to repair or replace them. Cardone and circuitboardmedics.com are a couple. The truck will start and drive without the cluster installed.

Try checking the battery cable connections for the no-start. The bolts easily strip and corrosion on the terminals prevents adequate contact/current flow.
