2008 Silverado cruise control is not working

have bought the switch at both Advance Auto and O'Reilley's a couple of times. They always have them in stock. However, I have had to replace them on 3 occasions, so I am on my fourth switch. Not sure if the off market ones are just bad or there is something wrong with the GM electronics. Either case could be likely...

My cruise control just went out on my 2008 Silverado. I knew nothing about the break switch so I will try that this weekend. I've always been a Chevy guy, but it's unreal all the issues I've had with this truck. Replace 4 door locks (1 not under warranty) replace the sunroof because of a leak (under warranty) replace cracked dashboard (not under warranty) now this. Seems like a lot of problems for a truck that's supposed to be "like a rock"
I love the truck but man!

Abs + traction control
2010 siverado 1500
I removed the stop switch to clean it in an attempt to get the cruise control to work. This was successful. However after replacing the switch now the ABS and Traction control malfunction light are lit. The do go off with the ignition but turn back on shortly after starting up. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Could this be cause by moving the brake pedal shaft?
