Please reach out to us via private message on this forum or by email at socialmedia@gm.com. Include your full contact information, VIN, current mileage and your preferred dealer name and location you would work with.

This is what they are currently asking people to do.

Default 2007 Silverado with same problems with dash

I want to ask if a 2007 Silverado crew cab may be considered for a dash replacement. It is garage kept and has 17,000 miles on it. Basically it is a new truck. Will GM help with this? Also, how do I get a case number?
I appreciate any info. you guys can give me.

Unfortunately GM will not help with this because of the age of the vehicle. I hate it because of the low miles. But to tell you the truth no manufacture would even consider good willing a failure after so many years of service that vehicle has regardless of miles. It isn't going to hurt anything to be cracked other than it looks terrible. I have replaced all of my dashes knowing that I might be faced with replacement down the road. I have a 2007 Tahoe, 2010 Suburban and a 2009 Silverado 2500HD. I get good prices on the dashes from my dealer and the body shop guy will install them for 100.00 on the side so it worked out for me. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to replace them.

I appreciate the info. Amazon has these aftermarket glue on dash covers. They are plastic, not carpet. Have you ever seen one of these installed?

If you are the original owner of the truck take to your nearest dealership and ask them to contact GM on your behalf to see if they will pay for part of the cost to replace it. Most get some assistance and only have to pay for cost of parts. If that doesn't work contact GM directly and open a case number. Just keep complaining.

I realize this is a pretty old thread, but worth a shot. My 07 dash cracked exactly like everyone else's. It has about 90k miles, is GM still fixing these for the $100 discussed earlier? I wasnt sure if any of those contacts are still with GM to contact.

I doubt that you will even to get any parts now. I would go to GM Parts Direct and look to see if they are available. I know GM will not offer any discounts for installation being the vehicle is well out of warranty on mileage and time. If you can get one I would do that. Any decent body shop can install them if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

I also would like to get this dash issue addressed. Mine has completely crumbled on my 2008 Silverado.
