2012 2500HD Power Steering noise
I have 2012 2500 HD with 6.0 gas engine. When turning the steering wheel to the left especially at low speed it makes a low pitch whining noise, I don't hear it when turning to the right. I can slightly feel it in the steering wheel, I don't hear or feel it when above 20 mph. I mainly hear it when going through the subdivision or parking lot maneuvering. Power steering fluid is topped off and it doesn't use or leak any, I haven't needed to add any. I don't have oversized tires or modifications that would change anything from stock. Any ideas or experience with this would be helpful.

I can’t say I had the exact same issue, but I ran into something similar a few years back. I bought an ’01 Chevy 4x4 with a 4.8, and it had no power steering in one direction only (can’t remember if it was left or right after all these years, but the principle’s the same). Ended up replacing the steering gear box, and that solved it.
The guy I bought it from told me he had gotten the right front tire stuck in a snowbank while driving. When it grabbed and stopped that tire, the problem started, no power steering in that one direction only. i cant even tell you how to test it. but it would be number one on my potential culprits
