I run through all 13 pages under suspension I hope that was the right forum. I have a 2009 Silverado 4door I want to put rear disc brakes the drums I have won't self adjust and I have put two seperate master kits on the axle. Everytime I look and fill in my info it says no kits due to opposing shocks?? What does it have to do with it? Has anyone put rear discs on an 09? I am looking at putting disc on rear and upgrading to dual piston on front. Truck is used to haul some heavy lood guess biggest is small excavator and heavy tandem trailer plus some 8x18 trailer loaded with hay. Tired of having to replace front rotors due to overheating and warpage. Hope someone can help baby has been a good truck other then brakes, tires, just replaced lower a arms and both hubs and shes paid for and only 122,00 miles. Thanks in advance

 

If you've lots of bling, you can put disks on it, but most braking, 70-80 percent, is done by the front brakes. As for the adjusters for drum brakes, wire them off good and put Neverseize on the threads. It will keep those free of dirt, dust, water, you-name-it and make sure the lever and tangs are not worn-down. You don't have to buy a bottle of it. It comes in small squeeze -packs. That and top of the line shoes(Put N-S on the brake backing plate where the shoes rest on ) will be much cheaper than disk brakes.

 

I'll try that not really a farm truck more a ranch that my one son and I share you know how that goes Dad supports the truck and son borrows when he needs it

 

Get some Akabono disk pads for the front disks of your Chevy. They are the best ones I have found all around.
