Transmission or transfer case problem?
2009 Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4x4 5.3L 6 speed automatic transmission. Original transmission and transfer case.
Speedometer is all over the place, hard shifting, I can't drive faster than 38 mph without my vehicle begins to "buck". I can't drive on the freeways. How do I tell whether the problem is with my transmission or my transfer case? It feels like the 4 wheel drive is engaged.
Being on a fixed income I have to budget for evertything! I would appreciate some input from a professional mechanic as to what the problem is i.e. input/output shaft vss or transfer case. Can I replace the VSS myself before taking my vehicle to a transmission shop?
