2014 Silverado AC Problems Already?
Shocked...to say the least!!! I've owned Chevy's/Sierra's for a while now, and to hear(read) all these messages about the a/c unit in the 2014 trucks taking a dump really worries me. I own a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT, with 12,000 miles and my a/c just went out TODAY!!! I live in Texas, and it's VERY HOT out here in the southwest!!! Bad thing is that it's Sunday and I can't get a hold of anybody(dealership). At least now I know that I'm not the only one that has experienceed this problem. Hate to think that after owing all these other GM products before that this truck might break my faith/loyalty to this brand. The only good thing that I can be consoled with is that it's still under warranty. One thing I have a concern with is that after reading that the problem is fixed, that it happens again!!! I have faith in my dealership and service writer, but not so much in the truck/parts that are being used in these trucks. Here's hoping for the best tomorrow...

So, it appears that my 2014 Silverado LTZ's AC just went belly up as well. Last Friday, I was driving the mother around when it started blowing hot air. It's a one year old truck - and with 48K, out of warranty. This is actually the second MAJOR problem I've had with this truck (the first being the video console went out the day after I bought the truck), and am thoroughly disappointed. I'm looking at a 1000 dollar + expense on a one year old truck for a probable bad compressor.
What's going on with these trucks?

So while at the dealer, I asked him if he'd seen many AC problems with the 14 Silverado, and he said he hadn't. I showed him the forum, and he said something like "people post a lot of things on forums." Basically, he blew me off. The AC problem is all over the internet, and I'm not one to want anything for free, but I sure as hell think an AC system shouldn't break down in a truck only a year old. If GM doesn't make this right, I will never get another one and will tell my story to all who will hear me. As a matter of fact, my co-worker was in the market for a work truck, and after he heard of my experience, he's opting for the F250.
By the way, the total cost was about 850 for the condenser.

So, air conditioners seem to be a point of failure for these 14's, but I wonder if the condenser is the culprit as it was with mine. Did you find out what went out with your AC system?
Please post with the cause of the failure when you find out. I'm wondering if there might be different faults. In my case, the condenser failed at a cost of 858, and the dealer wouldn't even admit that he even knew of any AC problems with the 14 model.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Hello I bought my 2014 silverado Lt Z71 back in August with about 34,000 miles on it. I travel a lot so I got my self a nice and dependable truck. Well its now December and around 53,000 miles on the truck and I'm about to go out of town for the holidays in about a week or so and I noticed today that my A/C is not working very well. Only blows mild hot air. I've noticed that , this is a very common problem with these trucks. I'm hoping that I can get some help so I can get this resolved before I head out of town for the holidays. Please some body help.
