It takes very little time to swap the bad line with a new one, install the bracket, evacuate the system and charge it. You simply cannot recharge a system with a crack. The refrigerant will leak out almost as fast as it can be filled.

Default correction my dealer, Dale Jr. sucks!

So far I'm not impressed with the truck's reliability. My dealer is excellent though. Dale Jr. In Tallahassee.
The hits keep coming. First the back seat needed replacement on day one. Then the computer goes out 60 miles from home. Then the A/C. Now, I'm screwed.
My truck started shaking like it was going into and out of torque converter lockup about two weeks ago. Then, on the way to the dealer the brakes started pulsing at the same frequency when applied. NOT road speed dependant.
So I bring it in and the dealer wants to "do something" for me. What that turned out to be is to get me to trade my truck in on their 2014 dealer demo. 11K more money out of my pocket. To say it got heated would be an understatement. They gave me a loaner thankfully. While I'm getting my personal stuff out of my truck one of the trained professionals comes hauling *** into the shop in a customer's Impala with a battery charger on the fender with the hood up. It fell, of course, onto the fender and then the floor. Lots of laughs fro. The other pros.
They insisted that my rotors with 19K miles wear warped. They turned all four against my wishes. I questioned everyone about turning Duralife rotors. No one at the dealer or chevy customer care knows.....
They found a bad transmission control unit. They replaced that and the torque converter and the shuttle valvebody.
So I now have my truck back, rusting rotors and all. The brakes feel fine but the transmission is still hunting around. The truck still shimmys, the oil pressure goes between 20 and 80 psi at constant throttle.
So I want to trade in the hunk of crap and guess what? In 9 months of ownership it has lost over 35% of its value. To add insult to injury, Chevy customer care has one answer for every situation. We stand behind our dealers and their decisions. Well thanks for nothing.
Hey Chevy! Do the right thing and buy me out of this lemon.

Default bye bye Chevy

Traded in on a new Nissan. Chevy customer care is nothing more than apologies about our issues. Why did we bail them out?

Reading the thread closer Jasmine you may have noticed that I no longer own the Silverado. After taking it camping this past weekend and having it shake and shimmy its way down the road. I traded for another brand. My Chevy dealer did offer an extended warranty to me today. That's all GM would do. Even the service manager sounded disappointed.

Ugh ...... I'm utterly disgusted. 2014 Chevy Silverado bought new. Within a week the computer went out, replaced under warranty. Today I hop in the truck and no A/C. Problem I have is the truck just turned over 38,000 miles and warranty was up at 36,000.

Check into it online and find page after page of people with the same A/C problem. Chevy offers nothing but apologies for their known manufacturing defect.

Life long chevy owner having plenty of second thoughts ...... absolutely disgusting.

Default A/c Hose

Does anyone know where exactly on the hose the leak is? I have a 2014 that has the same issue and trying to figure out if its in the aluminum or rubber part of the hose. Thanks 903-748-6168 if you would rather text

I believe there is something you can pick up at you local auto supply shop and put in the line to determine the location of a leak. It is a colored fluid/gas that stands out at the leak point.

It's the compressor to condenser line. it's the aluminum part of the line and it cracks in the bend just after where it attaches to the compressor. There's a sandy blogs write up about this. Search for #PIT5331.
