2014 Silverado AC Problems Already?
I have a 2014 silverado with AC problems also. I had it in last season. And condenser was replaced. It was blowing hot air again so took it in today and they said there was no refrigerant in it. Charged me $250 to put the refrigerant in with the dye and troubleshoot the cig lighter in the center console. This was not to fix anything. The cig lighter would be over $300 if I wanted it fixed. Worst of it is that I will need to bring it back to have them work on the AC again and charge me a lot. Come on chevy!!!!!
I bought my second "NEW" truck (2014 Chevy Silverado) and it was quite cool last summer but the first nice day this spring and I also have warm air blowing when I turn on the AC. I see the compressor engaged but not cool at all. You would think a new vehicle should make it past a few summers without AC issues but now I am over my 36k bumper to bumper, it really makes me stop and think about buying new again.....
All I see are the issues here and no fixes to speak of, can anyone help me out?
Thank you - Keith

I was so happy to drive home in my new Silverado 2 years ago. It was the first full size I purchased. And ghe redesign was sharp inside and out... or so I thought.
Since then I have had all kinds of issues.
First, the stereo would only play in stereo mode when listening to the radio. When the phone, ipad, bluetooth, etc was feeding the audio it played in mono mode out of all 4 speakers.. but only the left channel. After months of heckling the dealership I convinced them to let me show them in a new truck. I downloaded a speaker testing app which played the word "left" out of the left speaker, and the word "right" out of the right speaker (alternating) . In my truck.. left..left...left.. left.. in the new silverado.. left.. right..left..right..
The dealer had my truck over 14 days to fix that. Finally they said they had a patch or something.
Then at about 34k my A/c went out. I was shocked. Ive never had an a/c go on a vehicle in less than 80k miles.
Of course thy repaired with no issue.
Then 42k the oil mysteriously started evaporating. I had the oil changed, filled up by another place. They said no leaks found. One week later, the light came back on. The dealership stated that they couldnt find a leak but that I needed to have them change the oil because they couldnt be sure what the other people did. I am to return if I have that issue again.
Now I am at 43k miles and my A/C just cut out. Its been less than a year since it was last fixed!! What kind of two bit parts is chevy using?!

I have the same issue with my AC, just spoke with the dealer, they told me it was the condensor and they would try to have one tomorrow. Like most on here I don't have that many miles (35,500). I also have an issue with the driver side of the seat moving what feels like side ways just enough to know it moves, this is the second trip for the seat. I hate to say it but like many on here, I might be looking to trade soon.
Has anyone had any luck getting GM to help with this when out of warranty? Mine is a year old but has 38000 miles and just started blowing warm air on A/C. This sure seems like a very common problem that probably should be a recall.
I agree. Dealerships do NOT RECORD COMPlAINTS. I had AC problems and reported problems to two different service departments and now that truck is out of warranty the AC is completely quit. No record of complaints. I should known from previous experience with Tahoe.
My 2014 Silverado is less than 2 years old and I just had to spend $1,200 out of pocket to fix my air conditioner since the truck is out of warranty.
Last week a hose started leaking, which cost $350 to repair. A week later the AC quit again and the dealer said this time the compressor was leaking, which was $850.
The dealer said that this is a chronic problem with these trucks as they have had this happen on numerous vehicles. It is ridiculous that GM has not issued a recall since these are obviously faulty parts.
Hope GM decides to stand by their product rather than turn their backs when loyal customers are sold faulty vehicles.

Purchased new 2014 Silverado Z71. Had the truck for 2 years and the AC started blowing hot air. The condenser was leaking at the welds clearly a faulty part. Just out of warranty at 42000 miles dealer said the cut off is 36000 miles period. Paid 800.00 on a defective part. I have been a loyal Chevy owner but may have to reconsider when purchasing my next truck
My AC condenser needs to be replaced and the worst part of it is that my warranty ran out just 87 miles over the 36000 mile warranty !! Now it's going to cost me $1,100 at Pep Boys to fix . I've already replaced the brake pads twice on this vehicle also =Magnes;282071]We bought our 2014 Chevy Z71 LTZ 4 Door 1/2 ton truck last June when they first came out. My wife was hell bent on getting one as soon she saw the new design. We flew from Mississippi to Houston, rented a car, and drove to Austin to pick it up. It's a good looking truck but now that we've had it just over a year, putting some miles on it (almost 34,000), and the warranty is about over with, the AC has gone out on us.
The AC is just blowing hot air. Had been working fine up until this afternoon. The controls all work, the vents change as they should, just no cool air.
Has anyone else had this issue?
We are going to take it to a dealer for repair but our experience with these dealers so far has not been a good one. I understand that cars break but it would be nice for the dealers to at least ACT like they want to help... No loaner car and a week wait to find the problem is a bit frustrating for someone who just spent $40,000 on their product.
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas or experience with the problem, I would love to hear from you. Thank You![/QUOTE]

Got home last night a/c was working fine. Got up this morning no cold air. Looks like we all purchased a problem. GM will not address it on this forum because its public and they want to try to keep under wraps. I'm lucky I have 2000 miles left on the warranty.
